TABOR – Isaac Bateman and Dylan Chambers led the Fremont-Mills offense with seven combined hits, but Nodaway Valley scored the game’s final eight runs in a 12-4 win over Fremont-Mills, Tuesday, July 9.

Nodaway Valley scored two runs in the first inning and two more in the third against Knights starting pitcher Jacob Jenkerson to lead 4-0.

Fremont-Mills responded with the next four runs, two in the third and two in the fourth, with Chambers scoring twice and Bateman and Jenkerson driving in two runs each.

Chambers came on to pitch in the fourth and shut out the Wolverines for two innings. Nodaway Valley though took the lead with a four-run sixth against Chambers, and then added four more against Kyler Owen in the seventh for the final margin.

Bateman led the Knights with four hits and Chambers added three as Fremont-Mills fell to 10-10 on the season. Chambers also stole two bases.

Jenkerson, Chambers and Owen combined to strike out seven Wolverine batters.

Nodaway Valley improved to 14-10 with the win.
