The Shenandoah Fillies nearly overcame a 10-point deficit in the final three minutes, but a late 3-pointer that would have tied the game fell off the mark and Southwest Valley earned a 47-42 win, Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Nichole Gilbert scored 17 points, which included three 3-pointers. She added six rebounds, five assists and five steals, but couldn’t quite lead the Fillies to their first win of the season.
Shenandoah trailed 24-17 at halftime and the Timberwolf lead increased to 36-28 heading to the final quarter.
Lydia Morales added nine points and six steals for the Fillies.
Ava Wolf added five points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Fillies while Keelee Razee secured six rebounds.
The Fillies dropped to 0-3. They open Hawkeye 10 Conference play, Friday, Dec. 6 at Harlan.
Southwest Valley improved to 2-0 with the win.
