Fremont-Mills left Missouri with two wins, Monday, Oct. 14, 2-0 over Mid-Buchanan and 2-0 over the hosts from East Atchison.

The wins came in the final regular season matches for the Knights, who are now 9-9 entering regional play next week.

Fremont-Mills opened play with a 25-23, 25-21 win over East Atchison. The Knights hit over .200 as a team with Lydia Alley leading the way with seven kills on 10 attempts. Rachel Wietzki added six kills while Courtney Goodman tallied five.

Kaelynn Driskell led the Knights with 15 assists, eight digs, three aces and two blocks.

Elizabeth Bartles, Kendall Reed and Wietzki added five digs each for the Knights.

After a hard-fought win to open the day, the Knights rolled in the nightcap 25-6, 25-4 over Mid-Buchanan.

Alley had another seven kills on 11 swings while Wietzki added six kills on seven swings. Fremont-Mills hit .487 for the match.

Driskell set up the offense with 14 assists while Goodman led the Knights with eight aces. Ellie Crom paced the team with three digs.

Fremont-Mills head coach Tracy Malcom was able to go deeper on the bench than usual, playing 12 different athletes during the match.

The Knights won’t play again until, Tuesday, Oct. 22 when they travel to Class 1A number 9 East Mills in the first round of the regional tournament.
