TABOR – Jacob Jenkerson pitched five scoreless innings and the Knight bats scored in five different frames in an 11-1 win over East Mills that was called after six innings due to the run rule.
Jenkerson threw just 64 pitches over five innings. He gave up three hits and struck out nine without walking a Wolverine.
The Knights managed nine hits for the game with Isaac Bateman contributing three and two RBIs. Brock Hetzel added two hits. The Knights took 10 walks and stole five bases.
Fremont-Mills had two big innings offensively. They scored five runs in the third to extend the lead to 7-0. They ended the game early with a three-run sixth frame.
Seth Malcom scored three runs for Fremont-Mills while Colton Hauschild, James Switzer and Oscar Lupercio all scored twice.
The Knights did much of their offensive damage against East Mills pitcher Jack Anderson, who reached the pitch limit in five innings.
Dylan Chambers pitched the final inning for the Knights, who improved to 4-2 overall and 4-0 in the Corner Conference.
East Mills fell to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
