TABOR – Fremont-Mills scored 12 of its 27 points in the final period and that was enough to get by Essex 27-22, Friday, Jan. 4.

The second quarter saw all of two points as Fremont-Mills turned a 7-6 deficit after one quarter into an 8-7 halftime lead.

The Trojans led 16-15 after three, but the Knights found a little offense late to pull off the victory.

Kaylee Wright scored eight points and secured nine rebounds to lead Fremont-Mills. Courtney Goodman added seven points while Kenna Howard scored six and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Knights improved to 6-3 overall and 6-2 in the Corner Conference with the win.

Elise Dailey led the Trojanettes with seven points and nine rebounds. Helen Nicholas added six points as Essex fell to 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
