Wesley Johnson earned his first double-double of the season, but Essex lost 64-23 at Clarinda Academy, Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The Eagles jumped all over the Trojans early, taking a 24-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. Essex trailed 39-10 at halftime.

Johnson scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, but couldn’t keep the Trojans from falling to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Corner Conference.

Caden Henderson added six points for the Trojans while Philip Franks contributed five.

Robert Powell scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles.
