TABOR – Jacob Jenkerson and Dylan Chambers combined to slow down Griswold’s bats as Fremont-Mills earned a 5-2 Corner Conference win, Monday, June 10.
Jenkerson pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out six and giving up just two hits and two walks. Dylan Chambers gave up two runs before getting the final out of the sixth, but worked through a scoreless seventh to preserve the win.
Isaac Bateman led the Knight offense with three hits. James Switzer had two as the Knights improved to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the Corner Conference.
Bateman and Switzer both scored a run and Switzer drove one in.
The win on the mound was the first of the season for Jenkerson.
Brock Wallace kept Griswold close on the mound as the Tigers were looking for their first win. The five runs allowed were the least Griswold had given up in a game this season.
