Shenandoah and Stanton/Essex took road losses, Friday, Sept. 13 while Sidney and Fremont-Mills had the week off.

Brief recaps of both games as well as the scoreboard for the other district teams and the current district standings are all below.

Treynor 49 Shenandoah 20

The Treynor Cardinals scored five second half touchdowns in pulling away from Shenandoah.

Kyle Cerven threw two touchdown passes for the Mustangs, including one to Michael Reed in the second quarter to trim Treynor’s lead to 14-7, which was the halftime score.

Cerven found Anthony Stogdill for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but Treynor had already scored three second half touchdowns by that point.

Zayne Zwickel added two field goals for Shenandoah’s other points.

Jack Tiarks and Jake Fisher combined for six rushing touchdowns for the Cardinals.

Treynor improved to 3-0 with the win while Shenandoah fell to 0-3.

Bedford 60 Stanton/Essex 34

Bedford quarterback Cooper Nally rushed for 275 yards and threw for another 97 with six total touchdowns as Bedford pulled away in the second half in the district opener for both teams.

Stanton/Essex scored with 14 seconds left in the first half and then 31 seconds into the third quarter to tie the game at 28, but the Vikings found the end zone only one more time the rest of the way.

Stanton/Essex had the ball inside Bedford’s 10-yard line two additional times in the third quarter but couldn’t score.

Vikings quarterback Keygan Day finished with 177 yards passing, 136 yards rushing and five total touchdowns.

Eli Morris added 128 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Bedford started district play with a win and improved its overall mark to 2-2. Stanton/Essex dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the district.
