Ava Wolf, Shenandoah

Shenandoah sophomore Ava Wolf battles for position while eyeing a potential rebound during a win over Clarinda, Monday, Jan. 27.

Ava Wolf and Nichole Gilbert scored in double figures, but the Shenandoah Fillies were unable to stay with Kuemper Catholic in a 59-42 loss, Friday, Feb. 7.

The Fillies trailed 22-20 after the opening quarter, but saw the Knights extend their advantage to 37-25 at halftime. Kuemper continued to pull away in the second half.

The loss came in Shenandoah’s Hawkeye 10 Conference finale, meaning the Fillies finished conference play with a 1-9 record. They fell to 4-15 overall.

Wolf scored 13 points and secured eight rebounds. Nichole Gilbert added 11 points with seven boards.

Roxy Denton finished the game with nine points for Shenandoah while Brooklen Black and Allie Eveland contributed six rebounds each.

The Knights improved to 5-15 overall and finished conference play at 3-7.
