GRISWOLD – The Essex Trojans earned a Corner Conference golf dual win in Griswold, Thursday, April 25 while the Trojanettes lost to the Tigers.
The Griswold girls shot an impressive 203 to take down Essex’s 227.
The Trojans didn’t have the medalist or runner-up, but were balanced enough to beat the Tigers 243 to 251.
Griswold’s Brock Wallace was medalist with a 53 and teammate Connor Linn runner-up with a 57. Essex’s four scores all came in lower than Griswold’s third and fourth, however, allowing the Trojans to secure the win.
Philip Franks led Essex with a 58, just ahead of teammate Tristan Frank’s 59. Wesley Johnson shot a 61 and Colton Thornburg a 65 to make up the rest of Essex’s team score.
Tucker Hadden and Daniel Ohnmacht completed the Essex lineup with a 68 and a 78.
Lexi Burnison led the Trojanettes with a 48, which gave her overall runner-up honors.
Griswold’s Roni Hook shot the day’s low score with a 44.
Allie Sandin added a 55 for the Trojanettes. Ainsley Byers shot a 59 and a Savanna Moffett a 65 to make up the 227.
Shelby Brockshus’ 68 and Camryn Chambers’ 71 completed Essex’s lineup.
Next up for the Trojans is the Sidney Tournament, Saturday, April 27, while the Trojanettes also travel to Sidney for their next meet, Wednesday, May 1.
