Kaelynn Driskell scored 20 points and connected on four 3-pointers as Fremont-Mills routed Essex 61-11, Friday, Dec. 6 in the Corner Conference opener for both teams.
The Knights dominated from the start, leading 18-1 after the first quarter. The lead grew to 34-4 at halftime and 53-4 after three quarters.
Malea Moore added 11 points without missing a shot from the field as the Knights improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Corner Conference.
Courtney Goodman added eight points and seven steals. Kenna Howard didn’t score, but pulled down nine rebounds for the Knights, who host Logan-Magnolia in their next game, Monday, Dec. 9.
Sami York scored seven of Essex’s points and had the only Trojanette field goal in the first three quarters as Essex fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Brianne Johnson and Riley Jensen added two points each for the Trojanettes. Essex is off until a home date with Heartland Christian, Saturday, Dec. 14.
