Vicki L. Wagoner 1951 - 2019 Vicki Lynn (Stafford) Wagoner, daughter of Bernard and Vada Jean (Boldra) Stafford, was born on May 26, 1951 at Nebraska City, Nebraska. She entered into rest on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society Red Oak, Iowa, following a short battle with cancer at the age of 68 years, 5 months, 28 days. Her early life was spent growing up in the Sidney and Thurman, Iowa area. On September 3, 1977, Vicki was united in marriage to Rickie Joe Wagoner at Sidney, Iowa. They lived all their married life in the Shenandoah and Essex, Iowa area. They built their current home outside of Essex in May of 1984. Together, Rick and Vicki hand built a cabin at Sun Valley Lake, Ellston, Iowa in 2003. In 1977, Vicki started working at Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah and worked there until her retirement on May 27, 2005. Prior to Eaton's she worked at the Meter Plant in Nebraska City. Making memories with family and friends at Sun Valley Lake by boating, swimming and fishing brought great enjoyment to Vicki. She also enjoyed cooking for friends and family, gambling at the casinos and playing scratch off lottery tickets. Preceding Vicki in death were her parents; sister, Patty Greene; and brother, Chuck Fellows. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rick Wagoner of Essex, IA; son, Robert (Rob) Jordon and wife Jodie of Essex, IA; two grandsons, Clay Jordon of Red Oak, IA and Noah Greene and wife Chelsie of Shenandoah, IA; step granddaughter, Emma Ross of Omaha, NE; two great grandchildren; brother, Ted Stafford of Thurman; brother-in-law, Roger Green of Farragut, IA; niece, Denell Eggleston of Farragut, IA; aunt, Jackie Richards and husband Wally of Columbus, NE; three cousins, Anne Leahy of Greeley, CO, Shari Wederquist of Red Oak, IA and Steve Stafford and wife LaVail of Wichita, KS; other loving family members; and many friends. Private graveside funeral services were held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Franklin Grove Cemetery in Pierce Township near Essex with Pastor Ann Albert officiating. Memorials in Vicki's name are being directed to the American Cancer Society. Professional services were under the direction of Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah.
