Dale McAllister 1956-2019 Dale McAllister, age 63, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his residence in Clarinda. Funeral Celebration of Life Services were held 11:00 AM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Clarinda, Iowa with Pastor Marcia Cline officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, July 4 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Iowa from 5 to 7 PM with the family greeting friends. Interment was held 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Glenn Miller Birthplace Society or the Clarinda Regional Health Center Foundation. Dale Wayne McAllister was born March 8, 1956 in Nebraska City, Nebraska the fourth of five children to Ivan Keith McAllister and Martha Louise (Stubbs) McAllister. The family made their home in several communities, settling in Atlantic, Iowa where Dale received his education, graduating from Atlantic High School with the class of 1974. He furthered his education receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Education at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Dale taught business classes in the Milford High School, Milford, Iowa and then taught at the State School, Glenwood, Iowa. He began his banking career at Page County State Bank, Clarinda, Iowa where he was vice president. His career also included the First National Bank of Shenandoah and Farragut, Iowa (now the First Heritage Bank) and was currently Manager and President of the Cornerstone Bank, Clarinda, Iowa. Dale was very active in the Clarinda Community and a strong Clarinda supporter. He was a member of many boards through the years, including the Clarinda Regional Health Center Board of Trustees, serving as chairman, vice chairman, treasurer and secretary. He had been vice president of the Clarinda Economic Development Corporation; also on the Chamber of Commerce, Clarinda Foundation, Kiwanis, Iowa Tourism Association and the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society. Dale was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and had served as elder and in other offices. Dale was a very well respected businessman, community supporter and much loved brother, uncle and the center point of his family. Preceding Dale in death were his parents, Keith and Louise McAllister; brother, Bruce McAllister (2004). Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, William McAllister of Clarinda, Iowa, Dr. Janice McAllister and husband John Harper of Omaha, Nebraska, Dwight McAllister and wife Marcia of Greer, South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Joel McAllister and wife Crystal of Parker, Colorado, Samuel McAllister and wife Alaina of Pavillion, New York, Sarah McAllister of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel Harper of Washington D.C., Rebekah DeChaine and husband Bryan of Greenville, South Carolina, Eric Harper of St. Louis, Missouri, David Harper of Omaha, Nebraska and Michael Harper of Omaha, Nebraska; great nieces and nephews, Isaiah, Timothy, Savannah, Sophia, Alyssa and Caleb; other relatives and many friends.
