New Fire Chief Selected

At their Dec. 3 meeting, the Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department selected Justin Marshall as the department’s new chief, effective Jan. 1. Marshall is subject to approval from the Shenandoah City Council at its regular meeting Dec. 10.

Marshall succeeds Ron Weston, who will retire at the end of this year.

“Justin has been a long-time member of the department,” said Weston. “He is well respected by everyone on the department and in the community. He’ll be a great replacement.”

Weston said other officers selected by the volunteers were:

Ken Swank as assistant chief; Steve Pelster as first captain; Jack Donnelly as second captain; Jeff Armstrong, treasurer; Tom Holben, secretary; Todd Maher, training officer, and George Shaw as fire prevention officer.
