Page County Public Health Administrator Angie Hakes submitted her resignation during the county public health board meeting Thursday, Jan. 25 in Shenandoah.

According to board members, her reasons were undisclosed.

Hakes did state she will continue with the position until later this month.

“We lost a jewel. She was a good, sharp person,” said board member Stanley Johnson.

Hakes had been involved with the department for five years.

Johnson said the board has not yet decided on a strategy to find the next administrator as the board and the Page County Board of Supervisors are reviewing proposals for fiscal year 2019.
