The Essex Trojanettes wrapped up a winning week with a 2-2 finish at the Wayne Tournament, Saturday, Oct. 12.
SIDNEY – The Sidney Cowgirls won two more matches to advance to the semifinals of the Corner Conference Tournament while the Essex Trojanettes were eliminated from the tournament after losing twice, Monday, Sept. 30.
Stanton/Essex quarterback Keygan Day accounted for six touchdowns, but East Mills quarterback Michael Schafer had a part in eight as Schafer’s Wolverines outscored Day’s Vikings 69-46, Friday, Sept. 27.
Sidney senior Noah Jorgenson won his fifth cross country race of the season and both Shenandoah teams continued to show improvement, taking second and fourth at the Southwest Valley meet, Thursday, Sept. 19.
The Sidney Cowgirls had little trouble earning their second Corner Conference volleyball win of the season, Tuesday, Sept. 10, sweeping Essex 25-2, 25-13 and 25-10.
CLARINDA – Sidney senior Noah Jorgenson won his third cross country race of the season and the Shenandoah girls finished second at the Clarinda Cross Country Meet, Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Keygan Day passed for 204 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score, but Stanton/Essex couldn’t contain Lamoni’s offense in a 56-18 Demon victory, Friday, Aug. 30.
Essex volleyball dropped matches to Southwest Valley and East Mills, Thursday, Aug. 29 in a triangular played at Southwest Valley Middle School in Villisca.
Keygan Day and Colton Thornburg connected three times through the air for touchdowns as Stanton/Essex flew to a 40-6 season-opening win at Murray, Friday, Aug. 23.
OAKLAND – Essex/South Page senior Daniel Ohnmacht threw a three-hit complete game shutout and the Trojan bats also performed well in a 10-0 win over Riverside, Thursday, July 11 in a Class 1A District 14 1st round game.
ESSEX – The Essex/South Page Trojans scored double digit runs for the second time in as many games, but again lost as West Harrison earned a 22-12 win in five innings, Tuesday, June 4.
NEOLA – The Essex Trojanettes advanced to a Class 1A regional final with a runner-up score of 468 at Quail Run Country Club, Monday, May 13 in the first round of regionals.
SHENANDOAH – The Essex Trojanettes and Sidney Cowboys earned Corner Conference golf wins, Thursday, April 18 at Shenandoah’s American Legion Country Club, which is Essex’s home course this season.
SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Mustangs finished second and Sidney’s Noah Jorgenson broke the school record in the 800 meter run at the Mustang Relays, Monday, April 8.
CLARINDA – Shenandoah’s sprint relays were again strong and Essex’s Colton Thornburg took the long jump title in the Class 2A edition of the Clarinda Cardinal Relays, Friday, April 5.
RED OAK – The Sidney Cowgirls finished second in Class A and the Shenandoah Fillies third in Class 2A at the Red Oak Lady Tiger Relays, Thursday, April 4.
GRISWOLD – Sidney’s track and field teams were edged by Griswold for team titles at the Stanton co-ed track meet, which was hosted by Griswold, Thursday, March 28.
