ESSEX – Essex High School will have a cross country team this fall.
OAKLAND – Essex/South Page senior Daniel Ohnmacht threw a three-hit complete game shutout and the Trojan bats also performed well in a 10-0 win over Riverside, Thursday, July 11 in a Class 1A District 14 1st round game.
ESSEX – The Essex/South Page Trojans scored double digit runs for the second time in as many games, but again lost as West Harrison earned a 22-12 win in five innings, Tuesday, June 4.
NEOLA – The Essex Trojanettes advanced to a Class 1A regional final with a runner-up score of 468 at Quail Run Country Club, Monday, May 13 in the first round of regionals.
SHENANDOAH – The Essex Trojanettes and Sidney Cowboys earned Corner Conference golf wins, Thursday, April 18 at Shenandoah’s American Legion Country Club, which is Essex’s home course this season.
SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Mustangs finished second and Sidney’s Noah Jorgenson broke the school record in the 800 meter run at the Mustang Relays, Monday, April 8.
CLARINDA – Shenandoah’s sprint relays were again strong and Essex’s Colton Thornburg took the long jump title in the Class 2A edition of the Clarinda Cardinal Relays, Friday, April 5.
RED OAK – The Sidney Cowgirls finished second in Class A and the Shenandoah Fillies third in Class 2A at the Red Oak Lady Tiger Relays, Thursday, April 4.
GRISWOLD – Sidney’s track and field teams were edged by Griswold for team titles at the Stanton co-ed track meet, which was hosted by Griswold, Thursday, March 28.
MALVERN – The Essex/South Page Trojans saw their basketball season end in the first round of the district tournament 52-37 to Heartland Christian, Tuesday, Feb. 12.
DIAGONAL – The Essex Trojanettes saw their basketball season end, Thursday, Feb. 7, with a 53-30 loss at Diagonal in the first round of the Class 1A regional tournament.
ESSEX – The Essex/South Page Trojans had two chances in the final five seconds to tie the game, but both shots wouldn’t go and Diagonal escaped Essex with a 41-39 victory, Tuesday, Feb. 5.
ESSEX – The last home game for the Essex Trojanette seniors turned out to be a memorable one as they ended a six-game losing streak with a 34-29 win over Diagonal, Tuesday, Feb. 5.
GRISWOLD – The Griswold Tigers didn’t take long to make sure Essex/South Page wasn’t going to beat them again, Friday, Feb. 1, in a 49-34 Tiger victory.
GRISWOLD – The Essex Trojanettes played right with Griswold for the first three quarters, but scored just two points in the final eight minutes in a 44-30 Tiger victory.
STANTON – The Stanton Vikings clinched the Corner Conference championship and head coach Kevin Blunt earned his 400th career win as the Vikings downed Essex/South Page 64-29, Thursday, Jan. 31.
ESSEX – The Sidney Cowgirls walked one step closer to another Corner Conference championship with a dominant 64-16 win over Essex, Saturday, Jan. 26.
ESSEX – Essex/South Page trailed by 15 after the first quarter and couldn’t recover in a 56-40 loss to Heartland Christian, Thursday, Jan. 17.
CLARINDA – The Essex/South Page Trojans couldn’t hang with top-seeded Stanton in the first round of the Corner Conference Tournament, Tuesday, Jan. 15, falling 69-25.
COLLEGE SPRINGS – It was much tougher than it was during the first meeting, but the Essex Trojanettes completed the season sweep of South Page 44-42, Tuesday, Jan. 8.
