Page County Attorney, Carl M. Sonksen, reports the following activities in the Iowa District Court for Page County for the week of December 17, 2018. The Honorable Richard H. Davidson, District Court Judge of the Fourth Judicial District presided. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Jason Link Hudson, age 43, Parkville, MO, appeared with his attorney and pled guilty to assault. The Defendant was granted a deferred judgment and was ordered to pay restitution, court costs and any other surcharges. Defendant is placed on informal probation for one year.

 

Timothy Blaine Clark, age 39, Nevada, MO, appeared with his attorney and pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The Defendant was sentenced to ninety days in jail, with all but fourteen days suspended, and given credit for time served. Defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges, court-appointed attorney's fees and a $315 fine. Defendant will be placed on informal probation for one year and is required to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow the terms and recommendations of the evaluation.

 

Michael Lynn Burgess, age 43, Clarinda, IA, appeared with his attorney and pled guilty to assault on persons engaged in certain occupations causing bodily injury. The Defendant is committed to the Director of Adult Corrections of the State of Iowa for a term not to exceed two years. Said sentence shall run consecutive to the sentence Defendant is currently serving. The Defendant is ordered to complete a substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations made. The Defendant is ordered to pay the costs, including court-appointed attorney fees, restitution and any applicable surcharges.

 

Daniel Nathan August, age 26, Clarinda, IA, appeared with his attorney and pled guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, first offense. The Defendant was sentenced to 180 days in the Page County Jail with all but two days suspended with the Defendant receiving two days credit for the OWI 1st class. The Defendant must complete a substance abuse evaluation and follow any recommendations and is placed on informal probation for one year. The Defendant is ordered to pay a criminal fine of $1,250, plus any other court costs, surcharges and fines.

 

John Michael Krchelich, age 30, Clarinda, IA, appeared with his attorney and pled guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense. The Defendant was sentenced to thirty days in the Page County Jail with all but two days suspended. The Defendant completed the Urban Dreams Program and will receive credit against the sentence for the two days spent in the Urban Dreams Program. The Defendant is fined $625 and is ordered to pay court costs, expenses and surcharges.
